1908 Buffalo Pottery Deldare Ware Large 12" Bowl Fallowfield Hunt, Breakfast

Description

Here we have an antique (1908) Buffalo Pottery Company 12" Bowl made for the Deldare Ware line.  This features artwork for the Cecil Aldin art sequence entitled "The Fallowfield Hunt: Breakfast at the Three Pigeons".
The hand-signed artist signature for this particular bowl reads E. Dowlman.
This bowl measures approximately 12 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches high and has no cracks, chips, or scrapes of any kind.   There is crazing throughout and 1 inch x 1.5 inch (approx.) glazing imperfection.  There are also a handful of pen-tip sized, artist made paint drips on the underside of the bowl in white on the outside of the main artwork.    It weighs approximately 1 pound and 10 ounces.
About the original artwork:
The Fallowfield Hunt by Cecil Aldin was a sequence of images that were associated with fox hunting. The series begins with the hunters' breakfast and ends at the end of the day. There are nine scenes altogether in this series which starts: Breakfast at the Three Pigeons The Start The Dash Breaking Cover The Fallowfield Hunt The Death The Return The Hunt Supper At The Three Pigeons They were first published in 1901 by Lawrence & Bullen (a publisher subsequently acquired by Rosenstiel's).
