This auction is for an antique Reed Barton silver plate that is gorgeous. The outer edge as well as the bottom has raised cherubs in different scenes all the way around. Some of the cherubs are riding a variety of animals and some are riding in gondolas. The inside of the basket has lovely birds with flower nosegays around it as well as scenes of ostriches running through landscapes. This basket is so ornate I would display it just as it is with nothing in it because it is much to pretty to hide all of the stamped scenes. The basket stands 7.75 inches tall not including the height of the handle. It measures about 15 inches tall to the top of the swing handle. The basket has a slight warp which I find that most of these baskets have but it is in amazing condition for its age. The bottom is stamped Reed Barton #4023. I am offering this gorgeous basket with no reserve!
