    Description

    Here we have a beautiful silver plate oval fruit basket by Fenton Brothers, which was in production in Sheffield, England from 1859- 1910. The footed basket measures 11 1/2 inches by 9 1/4 inches. It has a swing handle. The edge of the basket has a lovely scalloped shape. There is some engraving detail along the edge and in the center.
    The bottom is marked "F Brs, SEP, 3249." The condition of the basket is very good. There is some wear in the silver plating inside the bowl. There is also a tiny ping inside the bowl, and there is a small dent along one of the scalloped sections on the edge. I have included photos of these imperfections, which are minor.
    I have lightly polished the bowl, but the winning bidder may wish to do a more thorough polishing.
