Antique Silverplate Repousse Dutch /brides basket , Late 1800's.
A gorgeous metal Brides Basket, tall & slender, beautifully embossed, made by Barbour Silver Company of New Heaven, Connecticut around the turn of the last century, 1892. The exterior motif is covered with cherubs and lovers . lots of embossed scroll work which appear to represent Swags /garden scene flowers most appropriate for an engagement .
In original uncleaned condition without any damages or repairs.
Nicely marked on the bottom with Barbour crest and pattern #3720 also has g1940 and x5
Measures 17” inches tall by 10 2/8” by 10”
