Presented for your consideration we are offering this stunning, extremely rare, ornate, etched, elevated antique Victorian bridal basket, with filigree handle, made in the United States by the fine silversmiths at Reed & Barton, c 19th century.
In excellent vintage condition, with no visible pitting, but a small dent on underside of tray (see last photo), some minor scrapes and scratches here and there, commensurate with age, light use, and fine care
Could use a cleaning to remove tarnish, should you choose - we NEVER clean our antiques or vintage collectibles
Measures 8 1/2" High without considering handle and 13 3/4" High with handle elevated x 9 1/2" diameter of tray x Base diameter of just over 4 3/4"
Absolutely magnificent design decorates this brides basket, in classic Reed & Barton Victorian style, with center tray ornately etched in a floral pattern, beautifully detailed handle top with scrolls and abstract design, outer rim extends out ward at about a 45 degree angle, highlighting ornate etched embossed pattern in a floral motif, and several levels of pedestal base, the widest and bottom most presenting a lovely etched almost guilloche pattern - it is, in a word, magnificent
