Antique Victorian WMF Germany Bride's basket Ornate Silver Plate Custom 1880 s

Description

This stunning bride's basket is from approx 1880-1885 and was manufactured by WMF which is Wurtemberg metalware factory (English transaction ) of wurttembergische metallwarenfabrik.  From Germany.   This piece is eloquent and a custom made piece (the 6 petal flower on bottom means, custom made).
This piece is silver plate. The I/O means "normal thickness of silver deposited onto surface of base metal, usually brass".  There is some wear of silver on this piece but we'll expected from a 130 plus yr old piece.. The bowl is 7 inches across, great for mints or rose petals or other candies. This is a statement piece.
Bride's baskets were the rage in 1860-1910 when they went out of favor. These are highly collectible and ones like this are rare.
The bowl has no damage, chips, cracks etc. It may or may not be original to custom piece manufacturer but it is the right period and size..it came together when I bought it.
It is approx 11 inches tall.. beautiful ornate and in great shape!
