    19th Century Barbour Plate Repousse 15" Bride's Basket, Excellent Condition.
    Up for auction is a 19

    century Barbour Silver Co. silver plate Bride’s Basket, stamped on the bottom as item #3737. It features a very ornate pattern of various farm scenes. Some of the scenes remind me of an old tavern scene. It is in very good condition, with no cracks and no copper showing through. On one side at the base there is a dark spot (see photo). I don't know if this is tarnish or something else, and it is along the seam of the vase.. The handle is silver plated on both sides, and the inside of the vase has a gold-colored sheen to it. The Barbour Silver Co. trademark went out of business in 1931, so at minimum this vase is 90 years old.
    The vase measures approximately15.5” tall including the handle. The vase itself is 9” tall. It is 8” at its widest point and 5.5” in depth. It is a beautiful piece of artwork.
