BODA small RAINBOW striped oval VASE signed B VALLIEN multicolor SWEDEN 48225

Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful little glass vase made by Boda (Later Kosta Boda) of Sweden. It has an oval cross-section, and a spatter-textured white surface applied over clear glass.  Wire-thin parallel ribbons of multicolored glass form bright vertical bands on the front and back of the vase, inspiring the pattern's name, Rainbow.  The Rainbow series was designed by Bertil Vallien.  The vase is signed on the bottom "BODA B. Vallien 48225 (picture 6).  Because the name BODA rather than KOSTA BODA is used, I suspect the vase was made before Kosta Glasbruk and Boda Glasbruk merged in 1971.
The vase stands 3 1/4 inches (8.3cm) tall.  It measures 2 7/8 inches (7.3cm) from side to side, and 1 7/8 inches (4.8cm) deep from front to back at the rim. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a very Scandinavian vase for your collection!
The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.  There is no discoloration or other flaws/damage.
