Exquisite & Rare Antique 19th Century James W Tufts #2743 Victorian Aesthetic/Eastlake Silver Brides Basket. Incredibly lavish ornately beautiful design.
The basket is footed, with a stork In pierced metal raised relief on each foot. A motif of interlocking hearts in raised relief encircles the bowl of the basket. Butterflies, orchids and chrysanthemums adorn the center art nouveau style of the bowl. Ornate handle crest. Floral interior side panels. Rare piece, very difficult to find. Impossible to find in such superb condition.
Material: heavy silver plating over metal, probably with the more expensive and durable copper alloy. Polished to a mirror finish.

Condition: used. Very nice especially given age. Rarely see these is such great condition. No doubt some tarnish on the silver plate. No dents, dings or cracks. Overall this was kept in excellent condition.
According to family of estate, The bride who originally received this basket lived to be 101 years old, and was married for 81 years.
