Description
For your consideration is a German police officer’s sword, probably late 19th century to 1930’s. Very nice, clean cutlass-style blade marked “Weyersburg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen” is without rust. Fish skin grip is in good shape although it looks like it used to have wire wrap which is now missing. There’s what I assume to be rack numbers or inventory marks on the quillion. The sword still has its washer and is very tight and solid, no movement at the hilt. Japanned-black metal scabbard is in rough aesthetic shape but still fits the blade snugly.
