REED & BARTON OWL ANTIQUE SILVERPLATE AESTHETIC ERA BRIDES BASKET Humming Birds.
Tremendously unique brides basket with a very early Reed & Barton mark. The interior features owls, hummingbirds, butterfly’s, flowers, and leaves all the way around in a classic aesthetic era theme. The center has a beautiful medallion with a wading heron. While R&B brides baskets aren’t totally rare I think you would be hard pressed to ever find another in this pattern as long as you live. I can’t find evidence of another existing. I’ve enjoyed it for a long time but really don’t have a good place to properly display so would like it to find a good home. It’s in nice antique condition. The interior does show signs of actually being used but remains nice. The handle shows some plating loss on one side. The piece has a pit of a lean if you look at it straight on but it’s not extreme. Otherwise it is very good, I enjoy it as is with patina but you could give it a good polish. It would shine like new with that polish. Ships ASAP! Thanks
