This is a lovely square silver plate Brides Basket holding a cut glass bowl. The bowl is approx. 2.25” tall and approx. 8” diameter. The basket is marked Toronto Silver Plate Co. #169 and the letters EPBM which I think stands for “Electro-Plated Britannia Metal”. The company was started by James Watts in 1882 and closed in 1913. I don’t know the pattern of the cut glass bowl. This is such a beautiful impressive centerpiece console basket. It is a large approx. 12 “ diagonally from corner to corner and 10” from side to side. It is approx. 9.5” tall with the handle up and the basket is around 3.25” tall. The border is very ornate with etched bows in each corner. There are scratches in the bottom from the cut glass bowl. I bought these together as a complete set, but I wonder if they started life together or were matched up later. They fit and look perfect together. Email me with any questions.
