A unique silver plated basket with chasing (embossed) designs which appear to be detailed depictions of life in a vintage European village. It is 6.5" diameter and 5" high and has a 3 section glass liner. It is marked on the bottom with a K & S in a square with another square shield in between with 3 x's. Also number 83632. In my research I found one person who stated the K is the time period and S the manufacturer. The 3 x's in the shield meant the thickness of the silver. It was also stated that the 836 was for 1836 and the 32 was the model #. Others thought it was a five digit registration #. Some mentioned it could have been made in the Hanau area of Germany. I'm still not sure, but it is a really nice piece. A great find!
