    Description

WW1 GERMAN "Butcher Blade" BAYONET BY GOTTLIEB HAMMESFAHR OF SOLINGEN Foche, SCHUBERT & SALZER Maschinefabrik, Chemnitz. There is a W 17 on top of the blade (Kaiser Wilhelm/1917), forward of the barrel ring, a pyramid with a "+" in it on the ricasso. The blade dose have some discoloration at the tip. The tip of the scabbard has dents on both sides. Blade length is 14.25, OAL is 19.5. You will notice this bayonet has smooth wooden grips, all others I have seen have diagonal grooves.
