    The Hess Cement Mixer comes with three pre-installed, ready to use, AAA batteries that power multi-function lights and play two different songs.
    Access the battery compartment and mode switch by opening the fabric panel on the underside of the toy.
    The switch on the battery compartment has two modes: SOUND ON" and "MUTE".
    To play songs along with flashing lights, ensure battery compartment switch is set to "Sound On" and press or squeeze the Hess logo on the hood
    To stop the songs and lights, press or squeeze the Hess logo again.
    Pressing or squeezing that logo a third time will play a second song and re-enable flashing lights.
    Repeat as desired to cycle through the songs.
    Setting the battery compartment switch to "Mute" will prevent songs from playing but continue to allow the lights to flash.
    To operate the lights only in steady mode (for use as a night light), squeeze the green middle section of the roof lights.
    If left on, the lights will automatically turn off after 15 minutes.
    To manually turn the lights off, squeeze the roof light again.
